not-this-time parents

Why do I work in Baby Loss?
My own journey into parenting has been very difficult
I founded not-this-time parents in order to provide much needed support after baby loss for women and men plus training to equip organisations of all kinds to LEAN IN to this taboo and have those much needed tricky conversations.
I have personal experience of problem pregnancy, traumatic birth, postpartum depression, miscarriage, secondary infertility and IVF disappointment. These painful challenges give me a sincere empathy for all those experiencing baby loss, including those who for whatever reason, have trodden the path of termination and now journey onwards with post-abortion sorrow. Baby loss comes in so many forms.
Often the pain we feel from these experiences is papered over, stuffed down and hidden as we pretend that we "have gotten over it".
With 70% of managers admitting they are uncomfortable having baby loss conversations, organisations also need support to learn how to help.
Grief that is hidden away can lead to other health problems such as addiction, depression and physical pain. Clearly there will be an impact on performance at work and ripple effects within family and friendship circles.
Coaching conversations enable a safe, confidential unburdening and release, a validation of loss(es) and a chance to decide how to move forward.
Training equips those within organisations, who want to challenge the taboo, to gently move the cultural dial.
I do what I do because I have been there and I know how hard it is for those grieving and how tricky it can feel for those who want to help.
"Be the change you want to see in the world."
